TRAINING WORKSHOPS FOR YOGA INSTRUCTORS, EDUCATORS & PARENTS “Your training filled in all the gaps from other programs I've taken. I feel that because of your workshop, I'm ready to go and teach yoga to children with confidence.”
Sisters Jacqueline and Teddy have been teaching yoga to young children for a combined total of eight years, and we have trained over 120 preschool teachers, yoga instructors, and parents through our programs . We've learned through trial and error what works (and what does not). Our experience has led us to develop a training program that truly enables adults to engage young children while managing their exuberant energy. "Teddy and Jacqueline were very generous with their teaching material. I found the structure they provided to be very practical and feel that they genuinely wanted me to succeed. With their support, we have begun to teach a children's yoga program at my studio." Meghan Armstrong, Owner We teach trainees to use nursery rhymes, songs, stories & picture books, and playful home-made/inexpensive props to inspire children to breathe and move. While we provide a detailed, dependable structure that works beautifully with children, we also inspire adult teachers to “roam” with their own imaginations through oodles of resources, creative theme ideas and activities. In hands-on fashion, our training workshops cover: * age-appropriate poses and creative movement * the nuts and bolts of smooth transitions * resources for playful props, song and music * integrating literacy and movement through picture books * class structure and rhythms * engaging relaxation, breathing and meditation activities * techniques for creating calm Our workshops include a 35-page handbook complete with resources and ready-to-teach activities for 2-5 year-olds. “The training handbook is AWESOME!! Outline of class structure with built-in flexibility is great. I can tell a lot of forethought and love went into this training. I can't wait to share yoga with kids!”
Yogadoodles training workshops are held at public studios several times each year (see Namaste Rockridge and Yoga Tree ), and are also available on an on-demand basis to interested groups of people. If you would like to schedule a training workshop together with a group of interested adults, or to join our email list, please contact info@yogadoodles.com . |
